Archipelago is going pretty well, although I'm catching a lot of heat for daring to set myself up as an arbiter of taste. My response to this is, "Start your own web ring if you don't like it." I'm not in this to make people feel bad, you know, but it's stupid to get mad at me for not appreciating your precious diary when I only ever set out to put together something that reflects my personal taste. It seems perfectly reasonable to me that someone who applies for Archipelago and gets turned down may feel a bit hurt that our tastes in web journals aren't the same, but that's hardly in the same league as, say, losing your job, or being served with divorce papers, or getting hit by a car. Writing vicious diatribes about my personal defects are just so many sour grapes, dollface, and there's no denying it. Save your bytes for something worthwhile.
