Little Fluffy is in bad shape. The logic board went kablooie. That's $500 for the replacement part, and untold doubloons for the labor. The repair guy told us it must have been a surge through the phone lines, but I'm not sure I believe that explanation. Still, what do I know? All I can do is hope they fix it soon. I'm at their mercy (please, sir, I can't live without my hard drive!).
In more cheerful news, Archipelago, a web ring I started three weeks ago intending to highlight the best of the online journals, was chosen by the Mining Co. Guide to Personal Web Pages as their Net Find of the Week. I think this is rather keen, and I enjoyed my visit to the Mining Co.'s site, especially their retrospective of Kate Bush and their amusing selections of 80's music personal pages.
Time to look into renting a laptop, I think. Adios, amoebas.
