I'm trying to come up with a nifty name for my graphic/web design business. As much as I love naming things, I always feel at a loss for that perfect title which will perfectly encapsulate all that I want. I lucked out with Aries Moon, I think, and with Archipelago, and a few others. But when I started looking at cool names for web design, I got stuck.
First of all, I don't want a techie kind of name. No WebBizHeadCorp Technologies sort of thing. Lucy's Warm'n'Fuzzy Web Design wouldn't really work. I briefly considered all the nicknames I have for our pets as possibilities, and I may yet go with either Monkeybutt Inc., or Tuna Breath Design. However, I lean towards something slightly more dignified. Not much more, just a little.
Then I have to keep in mind I'll be doing a logo I want to live with for a few years. So ideally, the name should be short and vivid. Sadly, someone's beaten me to Blargh! Online. Wouldn't that be great for answering the phone, though? "Blargh! May I help you?" Right up there with Head Smashed In State Park, for sure. I tried to get some help from my online pals, but the brainstorming session dissolved into silliness immediately, which was fun but didn't net me much inspiration.
I'll be pondering this for the next few weeks. I need to get some business cards made up, and design some letterhead so I can look official. It ought to look fun, too. Something colorful, something humorous, something undeniably me. If you want to help, send me email with suggestions. I'll print the best and the funniest. Meanwhile, I'm off to find my Thesaurus.
