Yes, I know, that's not me in the love knots up there. As a matter of fact, I am not going to take a photo for another week, minimum. If you must know, I dyed my hair tonight. It was not a success. The bangs are now an improbably dark ash brown and the rest is a wild combo of lighter browns and reds because I left the color on the roots too long and didn't pull it through the ends in enough time. Did this give me pause before picking up the scissors? Of course not. I also decided to cut my own bangs. It was not a happy experience by the time I finished. Honestly, I usually let a professional do both jobs but I just didn't get around to making a hair appointment this week and suddenly I couldn't stand the thick, one inch band of silver rootage or the shaggy Beatlesesque mop top look one second longer. I keep looking in the mirror and hoping things will look better in the morning when I'm much, much groggier and my eyes refuse to focus before that first crucial cup of coffee.

But this was not enough nonsense for one day, oh no. I started tidying up some Archipelago matters and discovered I'd completely miscalculated the number of active sites. There should be 30 maximum. There is now one extra site in the ring. My math skills are so abysmal, or my absentmindedness so complete, that I am unable to count to 30 correctly. Dear, dear. I can't chuck someone out in the name of symmetry, I suppose.

Today wasn't all bad. We got "end of the financial year" bonuses at work! Really good ones, too. I wasn't planning on spending it, but as I lay down tonight on the ultra chic, ultra weensy sofa-ette, and contorted my body into something resembling a reading position, I remembered how deeply and profoundly I wish we had a proper full length couch. I'm not sure where we'd put such a thing, though. The current arrangement would have to be reworked, and lord knows I hate rearranging the myriad wires and cables of the computer set-up. It's such a colossal pain.

Why, yes, I am a sissy.

At any rate, I'm awfully behind on the work I promised to do on the travel agency's web page. So far all I've got up is a lame and bogus Links page and a super spiffing Traveler Profile page. I really need to wrestle the Fare Quote Request page into submission, speaking of colossal pains. Since the only time I work on the web page is during the week at home in that ludicrously short six hour time slot between walking in the front door and falling insensate onto my bed, I have usually failed to get around to doing much after catching up on the fun stuff. I'm going to have to stop working on this diary during the weekdays until I get my projects done. I've neglected the paying work, and they rely on me to do this.

See you on the weekends.
