I'm ready to go to Hawaii. I'm packed, I have my important items organized, I'm not taking anything pointy so security doesn't go ape, and I have three books to read as well as some new CDs to listen to. I bought a guidebook called "Hidden Hawaii" which has some neat ideas for sightseeing off the beaten path. The cats and their various items are ready for their pet sitter. The cab has been arranged for a ghastly hour of the morning. All I have left to do is locate my nutty eyeglass lens-and-dental-floss contraption which I use inside a snorkel mask so I can see the fish and coral. Ooh, it must be with the underwater disposable cameras we brought back unused from Mexico. I haven't been snorkeling since 1996? Overdue, then. It's been 12 years since I was last in the islands, and 12 more before that the previous time. Do I sense a trend? No matter. I'm ready for five days of blue ocean, sunshine, plumeria, golden sand and palm trees whispering in the trade winds. Aloha. |
