Tonight was the office holiday party: dinner at Carpaccio's in Menlo Park. I had a light salad for an appetizer, eschewed dessert, and my entry consisted of approximately seven tiger prawns (albeit in lemon, shallot, cream, and garlic sauce) with a few slender green beans, but I still walked out of there groaning from the bounty. Presents were exchanged all around. We three agents got pretty gold earrings, and in return we gave the three owners beautiful hand painted boxes from Russia. This is probably the first time I've ever enjoyed a company party in all my working years.
