I finished putting up photos and biographies on our web page for The Agency That Never Shuts Up. I did my best but it still needs a little work. Marley, for example, looks like one of the undead. She is the exact shade of putty as her computer and desk. I mean, not in real life, just in the photo. Ruth is going to kill me for saying she collects clown figurines. Darcy appears to have been stuck by a pin at the exact moment I took her photo. I couldn't think of anything to say about Diane so I said she likes to wear bright colors which is not something normally thought of as a hobby. I look fat, and Beth looks perfect, so I guess there's a couple of true to life photos there.
The tinsel on my tree is all wrong. I made a tactical mistake and wound up with a very top heavy look. I'll have to unwind the garlands tomorrow and try again when I'm paying more attention to distribution, and less attention to the eggnog. I'm still looking for the star for the top. It's made of heavy, etched glass and I packed it away really carefully last year. I hope I find it before Christmas.
I gave up on my tree and drove north to watch Denise trim her tree. By the time I arrived, she had wound approximately 12 trillion red lights around it, and her living room looked like the aliens had landed. I sat on the couch and drank Diet Coke while shouting, "No, no, there's a big gap over here! No, no, don't put that blue one next to another blue ornament!" and so forth. You've heard of back seat drivers? I'm a back seat tree trimmer. Denise nodded and said yes, yes, and paid absolutely no attention to me. The tree looked wonderful when she was done. She had lots of funny ornaments on it. She swore I gave her a couple of them, but either the drugs were really good that year, or she's thinking of someone else. I'm sure I would remember giving someone a skiing cow Christmas ornament. Well, pretty sure.
After dinner we walked over to the park in the center of Brisbane and set up the tripod to take some night photos. Brisbane is famous for its Christmas stars. Every December people put huge wooden stars with lights on them on their houses and roofs. Denise and I shivered in the frosty air as we set up the shots and coordinated the timer and shutter for long exposures. Yes, actual film! I'm so addicted to my digital camera that I forgot I wouldn't be able to see the photos until I actually had someone else develop them. Dang.
I achieved my goal for Aries Moon this year. Last week, I finally got more than 100 visitors every single day. Last December, I had about 100 visitors a week. In another couple of weeks I'll start my third year of diary keeping online. What new goal shall I pick?
