California Christmas.
As always, we couldn't wait until Christmas morning to open our presents, so we opened the ones from each other on Christmas eve. I'm really happy with my new clothes, the mugs and tea, the portable CD player, and the Audubon field guide to North American birds, but I especially like the tiny office goddess, Caffeina, which I have enshrined in a .gif for you to view.
Caffeina, goddess of the coffee machina.
Today, we have done nothing but indulge ourselves with gifts and food and drink and music. We slept late, ate cookies, took a nap, didn't go to any parties, didn't see any relatives. There's colorful wrapping paper scattered around the living room, a fire crackling and hissing in the fireplace, lights glinting off the tinsel, and dinner on the stove. The cats are asleep, one on each armchair. Outside, the first stars are gleaming in the clear evening sky.
Merry Christmas.
