Sometimes I'm surprised at how old the pets are, and how long we've had them. We bought Dixie from the Humane Society in February, 1990. She was estimated to be a year to 18 months old. I donated a ten pound bag of cat food to a rescue center in exchange for Natasha in July, 1993, when she was estimated to be a year old. Two years later to the month I took in Keiko, rescued from a paper bag left in a parking lot, aged 8-10 weeks. I reckon Dixie is a Libra, Natasha is a Leo, and Keiko is a Taurus, because I can't help figuring out what astrological sign my pets are even though astrology is bogus. I'm such a Californian.
