Here's an example of what I did today. Unfortunately, I can't get a good photo of it which ruins the visual joke and makes the images look fuzzy. Suffice to say the knight's thought balloon contains a very bawdy image of a woman and several men at a banquet. Background borrowed from one of the many gorgeous images at the Irish School of Landscape Painting.
Because I had the camera out I took photos of each rubber stamp box's contents and made a visual index. I noticed right away that I have absolutely no background stamps: no trees, no grass, no bushes. I do have an 18th century sofa and chair, but I need some natural elements in my collection. Luckily, while roaming around online looking for various companies I used to buy from I discovered the Fall Rubberama is coming to San Jose at the end of the month. Score! I'll have to save my money, it's impossible not to spend $50-$100 at Rubberama even with the best of intentions. I can't buy them locally, there aren't any decent rubber stamp stores in the area. The closest I know of is in Pleasanton, an hour's drive from here. I'll say this for Nashville, it had three specialty stores within a half hour's drive. Boy, I never thought I'd miss that place for any reason.
