The beach volleyball tournament was cancelled because the rival Alero tournament was simply too much competition in a tiny market. We're opting to stay home rather than go anyway. There's just not that much to do in Las Vegas if you don't like loud, noisy casinos and it happens to be summer outside. So we'll save money on the pet sitter and the hotel, and go to one of the Alero events later in the year.

I'm just a little bitter. Don't mind me.

Finished up the last Star Wars film, and definitely enjoyed the Special Edition version of all three. It's amazing how much technology advanced between 1977 and 1997. The new scenes add to the fantastic settings of the stories, making you believe there really is a huge city in the clouds, and ranks of Stormtroopers lined up ready for action in some of the docking bays. Great stuff. I'm ready to see the new movie again. I've been advised to look in the lower left corner of the screen for a delightful surprise during the confrontation in the senate.

Maybe I should plan a trip to Naboo. It couldn't be less likely than the travel I've planned up to now.
