Orion had one foot on the horizon tonight when I took Dixie for her evening walk. In another month he'll slip away entirely, no more to roam the night sky with his faithful hound until autumn nips the heels of summer. My own faithful hound and I will tread the unpaved roadsides by the light of Leo, my own sun sign, even now visible in the east while Orion flees into the utter west. That's the funny thing about naming my diary after my putative moon sign. Everyone always thinks I'm an Aries. I don't mind; one fire sign is much like another. It's all about us, you know, and our needs. The new people at work are an Aries and a Leo. My boss is an Aries. Her mother the owner is a Sagittarius. It's a volatile mix. Pity the sole water sign who copes with us all. The sun was out in earnest today. It reached 75 degrees Fahrenheit. Unfortunately for me, I didn't take a lunch break, so I only enjoyed it from afar via glass doors and windows. Still, it cheered me up considerably, and work was not nearly as much of a drag. I got close to caught up; I am now only one day behind on putting together tickets and invoices. For a job that is so computer oriented I have a heck of a lot of paperwork. I've had a sudden cluster of Eastern Europe bookings. Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia. It's not a really good time to be visiting some parts of those countries, but my clients insist on vacationing there. I warn them flights are being cancelled precipitously and without warning, but they don't care. I shrug my shoulders and sell them tickets. I hope they're not vultures and carpetbaggers like the clutch of people who wanted to go to Indonesia during the unrest last year hoping to take advantage of a disoriented economy to buy antiques cheaply. Real life is so vulgar and venal, isn't it? I must get back to reading something well-balanced and nutritious after a longish break and much frivolous ingestion of celebrity magazines. God, I love In Style. The photos are one great big polyunsaturated treat. Are you all shocked to hear about Andre Agassi divorcing Brooke Shields? They were only married for a couple of years. I'm sure you feel their pain. And what about that Pamela Anderson Lee Anderson getting her breast implants reduced? It's part of her plan to be taken more seriously as an actress. Her talent will see her through the post-silicon years, I'm sure.
Yes, time for more Livy.
