I'm experimenting with my QuickCam still. Unfortunately, the black and white version doesn't have any focusing ability so I just stick the camera right up close to whatever I'm photographing. The result is kind of arty. Or lame. I haven't decided which.
I'm a late adopter when it comes to technology. I don't know why, except I'm reluctant to spend money on toys like digital cameras or PDAs. I suppose I'm afraid I won't use them, and since technology devalues faster than I can get the box open I tend to make do and get by until I can't stand it one minute longer. Then I finally break down and get whatever it is. Only I'm cheap, so I don't get the nicest version laden with bells and whistles. I'm usually sorry later that I didn't get a higher quality version but that's the way it goes. I don't want to find myself stuck with something that's too fancy for me, or worse, a fad.
Right now, the QuickCam is a most excellent toy well within my technological capabilities. Grainy art shots never go out of style.
