Is this weird or what? Sonny Bono is dead now from skiing into a tree. I got tangled up with a tree once when I was skiing, but the only thing that happened to me was my skis criss-crossed while I was trying to crawl out of the soft snow around the tree's base and I ended up with my head pointed down the slope while my friends laughed themselves sick as they schussed by. It's not at all difficult to imagine the impact killing someone but it is strange that it happened twice in one week, and to prominent people.

Now that I'm a total sluggard, I mean computer genius, I don't have to worry about bonking into trees. I do have to be careful of crossing streets. An old man was killed last night down at the corner. Some bonehead just didn't feel like stopping for a red light. Seems to be a regular problem around here. It worries me with all the cyclists in the area, but then, the cyclists themselves are pretty ruthless about ignoring signals and lights. So I just look both ways and then run like hell to avoid anything on wheels. That's my main exercise. I think I've lost 5 pounds already.
