Who loves Internet IQ tests? We all love Internet IQ tests! I've taken a couple of them lately, and one of them was pretty good. But the one I took today has such unrivaled categories of brain power that I think you should know about both of them just for comparison's sake.

The first one, billing itself as The Ultimate IQ Test, is located at http://www.emode.com/tests/uiq/authorize/register.jsp?url=/tests/uiq/index.jsp and I thought it was reasonably challenging. It's more or less evenly balanced between verbal and math so I'm somewhat inclined to take the results seriously, or as seriously as I take any of these things. At any rate, it claims I have an IQ of 131. Sounds realistic to me, but I'm just guessing. Despite having taken a genuine IQ test administered by a very expensive psychologist all they would tell me was I scored in the top level for verbal and in the average range for math. I didn't get any figures at all (my therapist did, and she wouldn't tell me, either). In fact, I'm much better at math now than when I took the real one, so I assume I'm scoring slightly better overall these days.

Anyway, that was a fun one. Then Tami Vining told me about http://www.iqtest.com/ so of course I had to take that one. I scored 148. Uh huh. There was almost no math on it at all, and most of the answers were laughably obvious. Really, they were. Unless you never finished eighth grade, I suppose. So what does this score make me? Check out these categories:

    Average: 85 - 115
    Above average: 116 - 125
    Gifted Borderline Genius: 126 - 135
Highly gifted and appearing to be a Genius to most others: 136 - 145
    Genius: 146 - 165
    High Genius: 166 - 180
    Highest Genius: 181 - 200
Beyond being measurable Genius: Over 200

Is that the coolest scoring ever or what? I love this test. Go on, go take it. I want to know if any of you are beyond being measurable. In fact, I'm going to use that as my highest praise from now on. "Dude, you are beyond being measurable. Like, whoa."

I have to settle for mere genius. Oh, the humiliation.
