It's still raining, four days and counting. Dixie, delicate seventy pound creature that she is, hates the rain and balks at going out in it. I can't believe this dog has one ounce of Golden Retriever in her, despite her coloration. She hates water, except for streams on hot days, and she has no interest in fetching anything, and even as a mostly-grown puppy she wasn't particularly interested in playing with toys. She's fond of lying around, going for rides in the car, thoroughly investigating stands of high grass, and snorking up whatever's lying around next to garbage cans. Once she realizes we aren't going to just dash into the rain for a quick pee and then turn around she usually decides to enjoy her walks in the rain. Stay out one minute too long, however, and I'm treated to a hangdog look and a drooping tail, a dragging walk and a stubborn refusal to even look at grassy areas. Honestly, it's like dealing with a three year old sometimes.

Speaking of behaving like a three year old, even though I know the new computer won't be delivered for 5-7 business days from the time of ordering, i.e. Friday at the very earliest and most likely next week, I'm antsy as anything for it to arrive. Every day I wonder if it might show up. I can't wait to use a fast, powerful computer that won't act like a sulky dog if I open Photoshop and a browser at the same time. Are we there yet?
